I absolutely loved the location, just steps outside your door is the ocean and about 300 yards away is the beach, awesome. I have to say that the weather isn't quite as nice as in Wailea or Lahaina, as it was very rainy, cloudy and the wind never let up. The pools and tennis courts are great and golf courses are gorgeous and so close by. The unit does have a slight musty smell from being so close to the ocean but the view is worth it. The furniture is in need of an upgrade,as the futons are very uncomfortable so I needed to ask for a roll away cot. There is only linen service (clean towels and bedding) twice a week, no maid service. Overall, I think the place it was fine.
I Raced in the xterra World Championship race and chose this location because of the view and the ability to cook my own food. What i was really not expecting was to find a great massage therapist that would come to the condo. were i had a great massage out on the grass in front of the ocean so that i could lesson to the waves as i relaxed before the race. An excellent experience. I will stay in the same area next year for sure.
Jake was awesome, the grocery service and local knowledge was much appreciated. Often we were the only ones at the pool - beautiful and private. We will definitely be back.
Great place- view and sound of ocean was amazing! Well maintained with a good set of amenities- beach chairs, towels, etc... Could walk to one of two beaches or Ritz pool, so life was great! We will definitely be back!
My family recently spent 10 days at this condo. Our children are 6 and 3. We had a great stay! The condo was good. The kitchen and bathroom are starting to show a little wear. Example cupboards looked a little dirty and couldn't be wiped clean. Other wise the condo was great, location was perfect about a 7 minute walk to Kapalua Bay and about 15 to DT Fleming. We spent most of our time swimming at Kapalua bay. The snorkelling was great our 6 year old could go out in the bay snorkelling with us and the waves were so small that our 3 year old could happily play along the waters edge. Several times we saw whales out past the bay and got a show as we walked home at the point. We had a turtle in the bay one afternoon which I guess is fairly common to. We had a 4 hour time difference which took out kids a week to get used to however, we were glad in the end they were getting up so early. Because we got up and walked the coastal trail, through the resort and up to the Honolua Store each morning. The area is very friendly, each morning when we walked we had many hellos and conversations with the other early risers out running/walking. It is a quick drive to Kaanapali or Lahaina if you are looking for a little more action. Our weather was great the only issue was the wind, it is fairly Windy at Kapalua. After walking a few short steps and looking around at the beauty of the area you basically forget all about the wind. Kapalua bay is very sheltered and we were completely out of the wind while swimming there. We had a great vacation and hope to return to Maui and Kapalua in 2012. We would recommend Kapalua Villas to any of our friends, family and those looking for a relaxing piece of paradise!
We loved our stay, but the place certainly was not spotless and there were no cleaning supplies to try to keep it clean. Just a little windex to clean the glass table tops would have been appreciated.
We had a wonderful stay. The property manager was extremely helpful whenever we requested anything. Thank you. The condo in my opinion needs a good "spring clean" and sort out the clutter that is in the cupboards. Small things like putting a bedskirt on would just add a final touch. We would definitely keep the unit in mind for another stay in Kapalua. Thank you Jake for everything.
The Bay Villas are fabulous! We have stayed In Kapalua many times and we are always thrilled. The setting is spectacular...the Islands across the ocean, the foliage,Norfolk and Star pines outline the beauty of the property. I know... I sound like a marketing dude but I am not. I just love it here! The golf courses are world class as are the beaches, restaurants, swimming pools, trails, hotels (The Ritz-Carlton),all within walking distance. The management company is helpful and available, thanks to Jake, the property manager. All my family and close friends are repeat visitors. It's just that good. Mahalo
Great location and good service from the representative - Jake. The facility could use a few appliance replacements - coffee machine, toaster; and a wireless internet router. The washer & dryer are a bit dated as well but functioned fine. Other than that it was very good.
Could have used a mid week maid visit. Location is good and everyuthing was in good condition.
I was very happy with the unit and its location. Jake from Aloha vacations was very helpful in the reservation process and always answered any questions I had by email. I would definitely stay at the Kapalua Villas again.
The location of the property is great and it's a nice, roomy 1-Bdrm unit. Kitchen was nice and clean. The furniture in the bedrooms and bathroom is quite old and the drawers were dusty which we had to wipe down before putting out clothes in there. Also, the door handle to the backyard had thick layer of a white, salt like substance which should be cleaned. Overall though great unit and we had very nice and enjoyable stay.
I wanted to say that I enjoyed the stay at this resort. Just a couple of things, the check in process was not clear, the dryer took forever to dry clothes, there was a few light out around the unit. But in all a great time spent there!
This property is nestled in the foothills with pine trees surrounding it, absolutely stunning. At first we were worried that the walking trail outside our unit would be a bother but people are preoccupied with the fanastic ocean view that they don't even realize that the condo is there! One downfall of a ground floor unit is that the occupants above had kids running around and were also "heavy footed" and not acclimated to Hawaii time. So we were awakened at 3:00am for the last four days of our trip due to the "pitter patter" above us. The Honoloa Store is pleasently equipped with things that you forgot to pick up at the larger chain store and not overly priced. There are numerous upscale restaurants in the area. The Plantation is wonderful and the view fantastic! One restaurant that was recommended was the "Star Noodle" located above the industrial complexes behind the Walgrens in Lahinia, GREAT SUNSET location. Overall the Kapalua resort community is one of the best we have stayed at. We will be back (just not a bottom unit).
We have spent great time on Maui. This villa is perfect for those who want to live outside the crowds. North-west coast is not very inhabited; there are no high buildings and wide beaches here. But Kapalua can provide you with scenic views of the ocean and absences of people. It is a place to enjoy the nature from face to face. Be ready that there is always windy and you can’t relax on the chaise longue near the ocean or have breakfast on the lanai; everything (and you also:)) will be blown off. There are 2 beaches close to the villas, but one is not appropriate for swimming because of big waves and stone ocean floor, second is only for snorkeling. If you plan to travel a lot around the island, Kapalua is not a good place for starting point, its advantages becomes its disadvantages; villas are really far from everything. Regarding the property inside we are very satisfied with all equipments; there are enough plates and dishes for cooking, big lanai where I did yoga every morning and incredible view to the ocean. One thing which frustrated me was a conditioner, its basis was located near the bedroom and it was a little noisy at nights.
We had a wonderful stay in this condo. It was conveniently located to the hiking trails and all the beaches. We enjoyed sitting out on the cliffs and having our morning coffee and watching the waves and the whales. The kitchen was well stocked and had all the imenities we needed. Loved the sunken shower and spacious bathroom. The bed was interesting with the foam on top of the mattress. It was a bit too soft, so after 7 nights, my bck was a bit sore. All in all it was a great experience. We would definitley come back to this place again.
We absolutely loved the location of the condo and views. It was amazing. Having said that, it would also be great if the owner would update it and keep it in the condition such a property warrants. A couple of suggestions are (1) replace the range (rusted on the edges and a burner doesn't work), (2) general upkeep and updating in line with other units of the location.(3) a lot of generalized rust and corrosion which should be attended to. It was clean though, but just kind of minimalistic.
We just had a problem with ants coming in the window from the bedroom but it was easily taken care of. Also, it would have been nice to know that the property never got sunlight on the patio, I was a little disappointed in that.
The location is wonderful with rugged lava beach in front and excellent swimming/snorkeling beach a short walk away. Only disappointment was to not have free wifi.
We loved the location of this property. It was right on the walking trail, right on the ocean and we loved it! We walked to 3 different beaches, Oneloa, Kapalua and Napilli. The area is uncrowded compared with so many other areas of Maui. We appreciated having the shuttle which my husband used to get to his tee times. We didn't get to do the hikes but plan to on our next visit. Soon!
Property Mgr. was outstanding! Available, helpful,a generous host. He enhanced an already quality vacation. The views are fantastic, the condo 1st class. The weather even cooperated! It all made for the best vacation we ever had
This property is in an excellent location with a great view. The pool facilities were nice, but we would have liked there to be a jacuzzi. The TV remote for the bedroom TV did not work. We thought it may be the batteries, so we purchased new batteries, but that did not solve the problem. We did not receive kitchen linens until half way through our stay. The painters were a bit of an inconvenience.
We had a wonderful stay at our villa at Kapalua. Furniture is getting a bit tired and could do with some nice wine glasses, but all in all we were very satisfied. The coastal trail is fabulous!
Very pleased with the entire rental experience for this unit. Very much appreciated the ability to use the rental unit longer on the day of departure since all flights leave later in the evening.
